. Hazard warning including BAD VISIBILITY: VisiNex detects any lack of visibility and sends information to a cloud that broadcasts to all vehicles before they enter the area (fog, heavy rain, snow, sand storm, …)
. Cockpit of the future: SafetyNex detects any lack of cautious in driving behaviour, regarding driving context, and it is then possible to modulate HMI (seats vibration, colours, odors, wheel vibration, vocal alerts, sound management, …) SafetyNex is fed with digital map, accel sensors, GNSS, and possible optional inputs (interdistance, difference of speeds of two contiguous lanes, fog, presence of vulnerables, …) that may be red on CAN bus or computed by NEXYAD computer vision modules VisiNex, RoadNex, ObstaNex.
. Smart Predictive ACC (Automatic Cruise Control) that works in urban areas, countryside roads and higway: ACC is aware in real time of the driving risk (provided by SafetyNex) and of the vehicle Speed & accel that would lead to an acceptable risk (e.g. kept under 80%). Vehicle automatically slightly slows down when needed to keep risk under a maw accepted value. ACC (a comfort function) brings more comfort and brings safety. This allows to implement quickly and easily the ISA requirement (Intelligent Speed Adaptation).
. Self-driving vehicles adaptive to unknown situations: AD system in informed in real time of measured driving risk value (measured by SafetyNex) and then can modulate its decisions to keep risk at a low value (using heuristics such as “if risk is too high, slow down and check if risk is reduced). Such an AD system is adaptive to unknown situations (situations that were not imagined and checked by engineers).
. Validation of an autonomous vehicle: vehicle drives on pathways of reference both with a panel of human drivers (teachers of driving schools) and with the autonomous driving mode. SafetyNex provides risk profiles in both cases and those profiles are compared (metrics of risk comparison).
. Acceptability of autonomous driving functions: HMI that informs driver/passengers of the vehicle decisions provided by SafetyNex that computes driving risk permanently. The aim is to make decisions of the vehicle understandable in order to destress people.
. Criticality assessment of AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking): our modules ObstaNex and RoadNex can detect critical situations and be used to calculate time to collision, probability of collision, etc.
. Autonomous shuttle remote monitoring and supervision: SafetyNex runs permanently into autonomous shuttles and compute the driving risk that they take (20 times per second). This risk information I sent to a remote monitoring and supervision Team that may decide to operate risky shuttles manually in remote.
Fleets Risk Management
. Driving down operating costs: it has been validated that SafetyNex alerts (with an average driver) reduce accident rate by 25%. This reduces costs of repair, number of days out of work, delivery delays, and over estimated insurance premiums.
. Bringing understandable coaching to drivers: SafetyNex monitors driving behavior and driving context. And then estimates if driving behavior is adequate to driving context. Everytime that inadequation rises, it correspond to a lack of cautious that is called driving risk. This risk can be shown to driver with explanation. Risk can also trigger video recording to show the scene with the driver and explain better the use ca and th expected behavior.
. Bring valuable solutions to Corporate Social Responsibility actions: giving to very driver a safety tool like SafetyNex reduces accident rate by 25%. This is a huge social improvement.
. Bring trust in trip sharing: a passenger may be glad to know that the driver has a good risk profile (safe driver). Lack of trust is a classical issue in trip sharing.
